What is uxtheme.dll?
The uxtheme.dll file is a skin application engine that intercepts system paint calls and applies skin data in its place.
This .dll comes bundled with Windows XP when it is installed and is used by Windows to apply the msstyles templates. It works in conjunction with svchost.exe, and Microsoft executable that also comes with Windows XP, to manage the application of the skins.
